Mr. Dennis Craig Taylor, age 66, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021. Mr. Taylor was born on October 25, 1954 in Rome, GA, to his parents: Joseph Taylor, Jr. and Virginia Smith Taylor. Craig moved to Rockmart in 1983. He graduated from Pepperell High School. He was a faithful member of Morning View Baptist Church and traveled with The Heirborn Quartet for 10 years. Mr. Taylor was a firefighter for the City of Rockmart for 33 years before becoming a Building Inspector for the City of Rockmart. Craig retired from the City of Rockmart due to health related issues. During his years of being a firefighter, Craig helped with firework displays across the state for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed going to local auctions, listening to gospel music and enjoyed being apart of the Christian Motorcycle Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shelby Jean Phillips Taylor. Craig is survived by his daughter, Casey Taylor of Rockmart, GA, son, Richard (Johnna) Taylor, grandchildren: Braylon Reese and Amaya (Tyler) Price, sister, Cindy (Mike) Griffin, sister-in-law, Lesa (David) Kerr, and nieces and nephews: Bradley (Ashley) Kerr, Pamela (Ryan) Robinson, Jenna (Ross) Davis, Cory (Ashley) Griffin and Emily (Max Hogan) Griffin. Memorial Services for Mr. Taylor will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Morning View Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to Morning View Baptist Church in loving memory of Mr. Taylor. Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Dennis Craig Taylor.
