Edna Christine Shepard

Hortense- Edna Christine Drury Shepard, 62 of Hortense, passed away Saturday (September 25, 2021) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick following a brief illness. Born in Kassel, West Germany, her parents are Winston Darrell Drury and Ingeborg G. Kurz Drury of Hortense. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eva Marie Drury. Edna worked as a cook for Kellwel Food Services. She was a member of Philadelphia Wesleyan Church and enjoyed reading, fishing, going to the river, and loved her family and her cats. Survivors include her son and his fiancé, Dustin Shepard (Cori Lupo), of Kennersville, NC.; a granddaughter, Kinley Lane Shepard; her parents, Winston and Inge Drury, of Hortense; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Winston C. Drury, of Hortense and Richard D. Drury (Frances), of Devils Lake, ND.; nieces and nephews, Ashley Drury, Rick Drury, Ryan Drury, and Kaitlyn Drury, all of Devils Lake, ND., Nikki Drury, of Ohio, and Chelsea Drury, of Brunswick. Also several other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, (September 29, 2021) at 11AM at Drury Cemetery; 8141 Hwy 32 East Hortense, GA 31543, with Rev. Sheldon Rowell officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service starting at 10:30am at the cemetery. Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask, are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
