Barbara Dawn Henry

Barbara Dawn (Benson) Henry 54 years of Indianapolis passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Thursday September 23, 2021, at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on Tuesday August 1, 1967, in Indianapolis to Betty (Simons) Cheney and Stanley Cheney, and later lovingly adopted by Edward Benson.

Barbara was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from RISE Learning Center.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Bart Henry of Indianapolis, her son, Jeffrey Benson-Henry of Greenwood, her mother, Betty Benson-Franz of Greenwood, two sisters, Tammi (Alex) Drenth of Indianapolis and Kristi (David) Jewell of Indianapolis. She is preceded in death by her adoptive father, Edward Benson and her birthfather Stanley Chaney.

I’m pleased to share that the Celebration of Life gathering for Barbara Henry has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 3-7 p.m.  Outside The Box, Jeffrey’s day programming provider, has graciously offered their facility for our gathering. It’s located at 3940 E. 56th Street, Indianapolis, IN.  There will be plenty of room to spread out, either inside or outside, so feel free to bring your lawn chair, and remember to bundle up if you’d like to hang out outside.

We are asking for people to bring their own lawn chairs and a dish for Sharing, if they can. Everyone is welcome, regardless of ability to contribute. We'll have mask, gloves and hand sanitizer available. There will be a tent, an indoor restroom, and a bonfire toward the evening. I'm also attempting to hire a Christian band to play (but no guarantees on that)

I also thought it would be meaningful if people could bring a pumpkin of any size and write on it what they most loved about Barbie.
