<p>Harriett was born March 24, 1932 in Pasco Washington to parents Harry Hawkins, and Iytol (Richardson) Hawkins. She passed away September 21, 2021 at East Cascade Retirement Home.</p> <p>She lived in many towns growing up as her Dad was a Telegrapher for the railroad. She learned to love trains and the railroad life&nbsp;including. Later the family moved to South Junction (moms&#39; favorite of all) where she finished growing up. While in South Junction she attended Maupin High School and graduated in 1950. After graduating she met Wendal Marshall and they were married in 1952.</p> <p>They made their home in Gateway on the Marshall family farm where&nbsp;Wendal farmed. In 1962 They moved to Metolius. In the mid 60&#39;s Harriett became heavily involved in Cub Scouts becoming a Den Mother for the first &quot;Metolius&quot; Cub Scouts. In the late 60&#39;s she enrolled in the COCC&#39; nursing program, and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a nurse at Mountain View Hospital for several years and later worked for St. Charles in Bend. Harriett continued her nursing as a EMT for Jefferson County EMS, and a EMT for the United States Forest Service, working on forest fires throughout the Northwest. She retired in her 70&#39;s</p> <p>Mom enjoyed fishing on the Deschutes river in her early years, later she became interested in looking for arrowheads, and visiting old homesteads and old towns.</p> <p>Survivors include: brother Harry Del Hawkins of Prineville, sons Wayne Marshall of Madras, Gary Marshall of Lower&nbsp;Bridge, daughter Lisa Marshall Maitland of Madras and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.</p> <p>She was preceded in death in death by her parents, son Rod Marshall, sister Mae Hawkins Lantry, brothers Earl Hawkins, Carl Hawkins, and Jack Hawkins.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
