<p>James Edward Odom, 81 of Bankston, Alabama passed away on September 22, 2021 DCH Regional Medical Center from complications of Covid 19.</p> <p>James was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Hester Odom, his wife of 50 years, Doris Elliott Odom, his sister, Jo Dobbs and a brother, Hoyt Odom.</p> <p>James is survived by his wife, Joan Odom, children, Randy Odom, Karen Odom Turner (Lenny), and Frankie Odom (Nikki), step-son, Brian Gann (Heather), grandchildren, Elliott Brauer (Lauren), Ethan Brauer (Karla), and Matthew Turner, great-grandchildren, Ellie, Rett, Russell, Kenzie, and Elizabeth, brothers, Bud Odom (Brenda), Roger Odom (Ruby), and Jerry Odom.&nbsp;</p> <p>James graduated from Berry High School. He worked at the Tuscaloosa Paper mill, and later retired from Liberty National Insurance Company. After retirement he enjoyed driving vehicles for Joe Cotton and Jasper Honda. James was very involved with Alabama Farmers Federation, and loved going on trips with them. James loved his church family and attended Cleveland Church of Christ. James was a people person and loved talking to people and making new friends, he was loved by many an will be missed.</p>
