Napoleon Frierson Saginaw, Michigan Obituary

Napoleon Frierson

Napoleon Frierson “Dokey” our beloved father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, and friend, made a heavenly transition home on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at his home in Saginaw, Michigan, to be with his loving wife, Dolores Frierson. Napoleon was born on April 17, 1931 in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee to Harry Frierson and Mary Frierson. Napoleon retired from General Motors Chevrolet Grey Iron Casting plant on July 8, 1997. He was a member of UAW Local 668. Napoleon enjoyed sitting in his chair eating slightly burned popcorn (he wouldn’t have it any other way), watching western movies and looking out the window in his family room. He also loved traveling to Mount Pleasant, Tennessee to ride past the Arrow Mine Lake, his favorite spot, and visiting family and friends. Napoleon was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and upon completion of his service, received an honorable discharge. He loved telling stories of his experience in the Army. Napoleon was the strength of the family, he had everybody’s back, caring, and always so giving. His family will always remember that he was the truth of the family “what he said goes, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.” Napoleon was a loving husband to his wife Dolores Frierson who went home to our Heavenly Father on January 17, 2016. Both will be truly missed by family and friends but never forgotten. Wonderful memories will be cherished by, three sons, Rodney Terrell Frierson, Saginaw, Michigan, Daryl Frierson, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mark Anthony (Kira) Conwell, Houston, Texas; one daughter, Dimetrice Pierson, Saginaw, Michigan, six grandchildren, Governor James (Kortani) Pierson Jr., DeMarkous Terrell Conwell, LaShawn Prater (Larry) Jacolby Conwell, Briana Conwell, and Deara (Christopher) Williams; eleven great-grandchildren, Jaylen Zye Pierson, Jordan Armonie Pierson, Jaxon Amil Pierson, Genesis Brielle Floyd, Imory J. Hall, Jayden Jor-el Conwell, Brielle Mi’Kael Conwell, Giselle Joi Pierson, Dailen Cormier, Kailen Cormier, and Jasmine Dolores Conwell; sister, Sadie Reynolds; many other family members, and friends, including special friends, Linda and Rick Stork, Effie Tellus, Barbara Montgomery, Charles and Betty Chaney and family. In addition to his wife, Dolores, Napoleon was preceded in death by his parents Harry Frierson and Mary Frierson, five brothers, Robert Frierson, James Edward Frierson, Kenneth Frierson Sr., Harry Frierson, William Frierson, and one sister, Lillie Pearl Taylor. The family would like to express special thanks to Jessie Miller, Shawn Riley, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff at Paradise Funeral Chapel.
