In Loving Memory Bruce E Goetz Sr. Born May 17, 1927, passed away January 29, 2017, at 89 years of age in Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Bruce was very involved in his community and was best known for owning the 1st and only blueberry farm in California, the Green Valley Blueberry Farm, located on Ross Station Road in Forestville. He was the first to offer blueberry ice cream, yummy blueberry bakery products, along with fresh picked blueberries at the farm. Bruce kept many high school students employed during harvest and over the years many would drop by to reminisce with him. Bruce served in the Army Air Core Service from March 1946 to April of 1947 and then was recalled for the Korean Conflict. Bruce was part of the founding fathers and 1st President of the Sonoma County Farm Trails, long term member of the Druids, Moose Lodge, and Good Sam's RV Club of Santa Rosa, volunteered for FISH, and an avid square dancer and bowler. Bruce is preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Tracy and his parents Cliff and Georgia Goetz Bruce is survived by his life partner of 19 years Maureen Piper, her children and grandchildren, 1st wife Carol Goetz, Brother George Huffman of Florida, his daughter Linda Pounds, his son Bruce and wife Monica, son Dan and wife Tina, son Tim and wife Jackie. Grandchildren: Jason, Jessica, Carol-Lynn, Ben, Audrey, Timothee, Jonathan, and Nikki, Greatgrandchildren: Jaidan and Jesse. Friends and family are invited to a Graveside Service on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Forestview Cemetery, 5925 Gravenstein Hwy North, Forestville, and to Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 4325 Mayette Ave., Santa Rosa, CA.
