Carol Irene Meldrum Stocking died September 17, 2021. Carol was born August 11, 1937 in Burley, Idaho to Joseph Roy Meldrum and Irene Coffman Meldrum. She was the youngest of five children. Carol grew up on a farm where she learned the value of hard work. She helped with the chickens, harvesting potatoes and onions. She loved her farm dogs. Carol graduated from LDS Business College. She married Richard Allen Stocking on June 12, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. (Richard died March 21, 1987). Carol and Richard had two daughters--Lisa Irene and Karen Ann. Carol worked in the clerical field and retired from Midvale City Justice Court. Carol enjoyed doing many activities with her daughters including the 2002 Olympics and Paralympics, Tour of Utah-South Jordan Stage 2017, celebrating historical events including Utah Statehood centennial, Pioneer Sesquicentennial and Transcontinental Railroad Sesquicentennial, various cultural and sporting events. Carol and her daughters had many fun moments traveling around Utah, Idaho, Arizona Missouri, Washington, Alaska, Canada and the Caribbean. Carol was a loving mother and will be greatly missed by her daughters, relatives and friends. Her daughters thank the staff of Stonehenge of South Jordan for the compassion, love, tender care, and peace given during the last five days of Carol’s life. Private services will be held. The family is appreciative of donations to help with expenses.
