Ronny Lee Godfrey

Ronny Lee Godfrey, 70, of Cartersville passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center. Born on October 15, 1950 in Cartersville, he was the son of the late Henry P. Godfrey and the late Ethel Matthews Templeton. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Austin Godfrey; his sisters, Barbara Godfrey and Virginia Godfrey. Ronny was employed at Shaw Industries until his retirement; and he loved cars especially hot rods. He was a member of Landmark Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife, Lillie Blackmon Godfrey; his children, Shane Godfrey, Kelly Hensley (Shawn), Consuela Nichols (Chris) his grandchildren, Haley, Courtney, Peyton, Jake, Tristan, Thomas Shane, Thomas Harper, Presley, Graceland, Jackson, and Nick, Sara, Linsey, and Chelsea; his great-grandchildren, Elijah and Elym; his siblings, Mary Ruth Turner, Imogene Long and Harvey Templeton; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Brother Daniel Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Jennings Funeral Home. The family requests that anyone attending the visitation and service of Mr. Godfrey please wear a mask and refrain from hugging and handshaking.
