Jerry Hamilton was born on September 18, 1940 to the union of Kary and Mary Hamilton in Colfax, LA. Jerry was the baby of the family. Jerry was baptized in Christ at an early age, and rededicated his life back to Christ at Bostick Temple COGIC. Jerry was educated in the St. Louis public school system. He attended Soldan High School. From there he worked various jobs until he was blessed with a position at General Motors where he retired in 1997 after 30+ years of dedicated service. Jerry loved life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling and bowled in a league for many years. He also adored his family and will always be remembered for family and friends getting together in his basement on the weekends. HIS DOOR WAS ALWAYS OPEN. Jerry brought joy and laughter wherever he went. His presence will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him. Jerry transitioned from this life having a series of medical issues since November of 2013, departing this life on Saturday January 14, 2017. He was preceded in death by his sisters Laura Porter, Lillie Barnett, Lila Jones, Mary Willis and Ruby Hill. He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Betty Anderson-Hamilton, three sons, Gerald Hamilton, Mario Hamilton and Sean Anderson, two grandsons, Gerald Hamilton, Jr. and Keelin Anderson, four sisters, Lena Lincoln, Irene Hill, Ellen Tate, and Victoria Spencer, one brother, Kary Hamilton, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbors.
