Kevin Clark Petit, 43 of Cottage Grove, Oregon, passed away on September 16, 2021. He was born on February 6, 1978, to parents Dennis and Teresa (Hainz) Petit. He went to grade school at London School and is a 1996 Cottage Grove High School graduate. He went on to complete truck driving school at IITR top of his class. Kevin was all about the outdoors and camping. He loved bow hunting and muzzle-loading. Fishing, especially fishing tournaments, for Big Lake Trout with his dad. He was handing down that love of fishing to his son, Garrett. In the autumn, Kevin and Garrett would spend hours carving pumpkins. Tired of sandwiches, Kevin learned to cook. He especially enjoyed cooking while having an ice-cold beer. One grill was not enough, he bought another and used them both. Kevin was a strong personality—a real character—a trait he picked up from his grandpa. He was good to his parents and kept on an eye on them. He was witty, clever, well-liked, and loyal, he got along with everyone. He was loved very much and had many lifelong friends. Kevin is survived by his parents, Dennis and Teresa Petit of Cottage Grove; brother Clinton Petit of Cottage Grove; son Garrett Petit; the love of his life, Michelle Henry of Cottage Grove and her son Jacob Allen. A Celebration of Life will be held later.
