Mr. Taylor Eugene “Gene” McClellan, 76, died Tuesday morning (September 21, 2021) at Hospice House Satilla after a brief illness. He was born in Homerville to the late Gordon McClellan and Adell Fitchett McClellan. Gene was formerly employed by Ed Haddock Logging, and he was a member of Argyle Place of Blessings. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved fishing but more importantly his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Jean McClellan; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Mary S. Varnadore McClellan of Manor; six children, Barbara Hauser (Mark), Brenda McClellan Griner, Pamela Leggett (Timothy), Gordon McClellan (Miranda), Henry McClellan and Mitchell McClellan; 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Morgan and Joann Leach; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (September 25, 2021) at The Place of Blessings Church of God in Argyle. Burial will follow in Suwannee Chapel Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made “In Loving Memory of Gene” at the link below.
