Janet Lee Cheatwood Obituary

Mrs. Janet Lee Stapler Cheatwood, age 59 of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, in a local healthcare facility after a brief illness.  She was born in Carrollton, GA, on December 14, 1961, to Bertie Jiles Stapler and the late Johnny Stapler.  Janet attended Bremen High School and for more than 28 years was a bus driver for the Haralson County School System.  In the last years, she was a school bus driver aide.  She truly enjoyed her job of taking care of the children on her bus.  Janet also dearly loved her family.

Janet is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, Marvin Cheatwood; her children, Regina and Douglas Patnode, Brian Cheatwood, and Brittany Wilkerson all of Buchanan; her mother, Bertie Stapler of Bremen; and two sisters Donna Payton and Bobby Carroll of Buchanan; and Selina Stapler of Centre, AL.  Janet is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Katherine, Hayden, William, Abbie, Zachary, Xander, Issac, Lyric, and Allie; and a number of other family members.

In accordance with Janet's wishes, she will be cremated.  The family will plan a service at a later time to honor her.  The family covets your prayers as they deal with this sudden death.

Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is honored to serve the Cheatwood family.
