Dianne Oliphant Norris Obituary

Richmond County

Mrs. Dianne Oliphant Norris, 66, Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest on September 17, 2021.

Dianne was born in Jefferson County, Georgia on November 17, 1954.  She was the daughter of the late Jack Brown Oliphant, Sr. and Alma Howell Oliphant.  Mrs. Norris was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Dianne was a woman of God and one of His mightiest prayer warriors. She loved others and used all of her creativity and gifts to help anyone in need. Known as “the cake lady”, Dianne filled the hearts and bellies of many, not only with cakes and confections, but with the Spirit of God that flows through her. She was a friend, an amazing mother, the sweetest sister and a perfect GaGa. If ever in need, Dianne was the first to show up to fulfill every need she could, and figure out how to do anything she couldn’t. She loved her family more than anything in the world, and you didn’t have to be related for her to consider you family. The world will not be the same without her sweet smile, but Heaven is brighter with God’s newest angel.

Mrs. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Alma Howell Oliphant; her husband, David Norris; and her sister, Barbara Hefner.  Her survivors include her daughter, Whitney Norris; her sons, Zach Norris and Alan Oliphant; brothers, David Oliphant, Jack Oliphant, Jr., Billy Oliphant and Tommy Oliphant; grandchildren Jimmy Duff, Carol Anne Hutchinson and James Norris; her aunts, Rea Davis(Wayne), Carol McDonald(Barry); and an uncle, Henry Howell(Jackie).
