OBITUARY

Kristine Nicole (Wright) Stanley, daughter of Robert Dale and Karen Kay (Ketcham) Wright, was born on May 3, 1972, at Davenport, Iowa.  She entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 17, 2021, at her rural Shenandoah home surrounded by family and friends at the age of 49 years, 4 months, 14 days.

Her early life was spent growing up in Bettendorf, Iowa before the family moved to Shenandoah.  Kristy attended the Shenandoah Community Schools, graduating from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1990.  Following graduation, Kristy attended Iowa Western Community College in Clarinda, Iowa, where she received her Associates Degree in Business Management.

On June 14, 1997, Kristy was united in marriage to Christopher E. Stanley at the Norwich United Methodist Church.  Following their marriage, they resided in rural Shenandoah.  This union was blessed with a son, Nicholas.

Through the years, Kristy first worked at the Shenandoah Medical Center and then at the Earl May Seed & Nursery office and Earl May Direct, all as a data processor.  She last worked at Central Surveys in Shenandoah until their closing.  At that time, Kristy became a stay-at-home mom.

Some of the things Kristy enjoyed were camping and boating as she “felt at home” on the lake.  Some of her other favorites were her cats, supporting Iowa State sports, dancing, jamming to her music, date nights and girls’ night out.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Kristy was in 4-H in younger years and was Sunday School teacher and candle lighter/greeter at the Norwich Methodist Church before it closed.

Kristy was happy to get together “one last time” with most of her friends and family the weekend before her passing.  She was especially grateful for the visits from people she hadn’t seen in many years.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Bob and Karen Wright; sister, Shelley (Wright) Marshall; maternal grandparents, Darrel and Kathryn Ketcham and paternal grandparents, George and Jessie Wright; grandmother-in-law, Ruby Reed; and parents-in-law, Jack and Maureen Stanley.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 24 years, Chris Stanley of Shenandoah; son, Nicholas Stanley of Shenandoah; brother, Scott Wright and wife Lara and their children Andrew, Megan and Lindsay of Ankeny, IA; sister, Julie Anderson of Rapid City, IL; brother-in-law, Brian Stanley and wife Karla of Brownville, NE; sister-in-law, Kori Clayton and husband Ryan of Bismark, AR; nieces and nephews, Kortney and Nathan Wells, Austin and Jaeny Clayton, all of Bismark, AR, and Brianna Russel of Beatrice, NE, Josh and Jessica Jewell of Lincoln, NE; a host of other relatives; and many friends.
