Curley Mae Phillips

Curley Mae Phillips, age 84, of Ardmore, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021. She was born on June 30,1937 in Toney, Alabama to John Ollie and Dollie Mae Smith Franklin. Curley is preceded in death by her parents, son James Phillips Jr., brother James “Red” Franklin and six unnamed brothers and sisters. Left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband James Phillips Sr., sons Jerry Phillips and John Phillips. She also leaves behind daughters Betty Pigg (Lamar) and Donna Phillips and her sisters Nellie Ruth “Ruth” Saunders and Alice Cater (Charles), eighteen grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was the legal guardian of two of her grandchildren Ashley Edge and John Sledge. Visitation will be Sunday, September 19,2021 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home. Service will be Sunday, September 19,2021 at 2:00PM in the chapel with John Sledge officiating. Burial will be in New Sharon Cemetery located in Madison County. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude or to The American Red Cross.
