Rev. Dwayne Allan Ryals Obituary

Rev. Dwayne Allan Ryals, 67 of Lula, passed away on September 16, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Dwayne was born in Gainesville to the late Travis and Ethel Ryals.

Dwayne Ryals was a devoted follower of Jesus with an unmatched love for his wife, children and grandchildren. He had many many passions in life but not one could compare to his desire to work for God as a pastor.  This life long devotion to Christ and family found it's beginning with the testimony that he shared with everyone he knew.

"As a 5 1/2 year old boy I went and crawled up in my Mother’s lap and the Lord saved my soul!!! Thank God for the preacher who told me of Jesus and for a church that maintained the Holy Spirit! Also thankful for MandyLou Reed who was sensitive to the Spirit!"

He also loved singing and spent several years of his life leading choirs, singing with his family, and often singing solos.  Many requested Dwayne to sing their favorite song, “Little David”.

Dwayne pastored several churches during his ministry, White Hall Baptist Church, Mt Olive Baptist Church, Community Baptist Church, Dewberry #2 Baptist Church, and Chestatee Baptist Church where he was a member.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Poole Ryals, sons and their wives, Casey and Alli, Jarrad and Marybeth, Joshua and Brittany, Caleb and Hillary; grandchildren, Livie, Aliza, Anna Brooks, Millie, Charlie, Gideon, Asher, Ellie Mae, Emmy, and Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Lounette Ryals; sister and brother-in-law, Paulette and Wayne Carlyle; sister-in-law, Darlene Nix; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marty and Lynn Poole, Maxey and Sue Ladd, Scotty and Redeena Poole.  A host of other family and friends also survive.

In addition to his parents, Dwayne is preceded in death by his father and mother-in law, Wallace and Geraldine Poole; brother-in-law, Tony Poole.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Timberridge Baptist Church.  Rev. Gregg Poole, Rev. Caleb Ryals, Casey Ryals, Rev. Kody Rylee, and Rev. Isaac Carlyle will officiate.  Interment will follow in Timberridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Little & Davenport Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
