Mrs. Geraldine J. Benefield of Temple, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at a local healthcare facility. She was born in Cedartown, April 8, 1951, daughter of the late Lee and Mary Robinson Jarrell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Jarrell; and two sisters, Pat Rios and Carolyn Bates. Mrs. Geraldine is survived by her husband, Rodney Benefield; her sons, Scotty Simpson and Corey Simpson, both of Bremen and a daughter, Courtney Simpson Cheek of Temple; sisters, Debbie and Jerry Wiseman and Rhonda and Mackey Agan; and two beautiful grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Services will be Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 2:00 PM from Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Van Brown and Reverend Ronald Carroll officiating. Sharon Madden, Wesley Jarrell, Michael Cooper, Josh Gilliam, Mackey Agan, and Phillip Benefield will serve as Pallbearers. Tommy Jarrell will serve as Honorary Pallbearer. Interment will follow at Bethel Church Cemetery.
