Rachel Parrish Holton

Mrs. Rachel Parrish Holton, 94, passed away Thursday (September 16, 2021) at the Baptist Village Retirement Communities in Waycross following an extended illness. She was born in Enigma, GA to the late Henry Wesley Parrish and Ruby Vasti Snellgrove Parrish. She was a retired telephone operator with AT&T and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Valdosta. She was also a member of the Pioneers Club and The Daughters of the Confederacy. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Huttzel Holton; her son, Dean Holton;; and five siblings, Wesley Parrish, Earnest Parrish, Jimmy Parrish, Vasti Hobbs, and Gwendolyn Alligood. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Holton Turner (husband Rev. F. Ray Turner) of Blackshear; two grandchildren, Monica Turner of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Ray Turner, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Moorehead of High Shoals, GA and Betty Hickman (husband Jesse) of Marianna, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday (September 20, 2021) at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 424 Bethlehem Church Rd., Ocilla, GA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends at the church on Monday at 12:00 p.m.
