Tonya Gayle Patrick

Tonya Gayle Patrick, 69, resident of Reed, Oklahoma, passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on September 13, 2021. Tonya was born on June 4, 1952, in Mangum, Oklahoma to Robert and Veda (McAlister) Patrick. She graduated from Mangum High School in 1970 and immediately joined the United States Army. She served as a Medical Corpsman with a specialty of ear, nose, and throat at Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. Upon her honorable discharge from the Army, Tonya went on to become a manufacturing optician, where she made eyeglasses for Pearl Vision for over twenty-years. During her time with the company, she traveled all over the United States as a quality control specialist and eventually became a manager. Tonya moved back to Southwest Oklahoma in 1993 to be closer to family. In 2016, Tonya started a new career at North Fork Correctional Center as a warehouse manager. She was the oldest person to ever go through the training at the prison. Tonya was a proud employee of the prison and looked forward to going to work every day. She not only served her country, the state of Oklahoma, but also her local community serving as the Sexton for the Reed Cemetery for numerous years. She was known as an honest and fair person. She always stood up for what was right and always did her job proudly. Tonya is preceded in death by her parents. Left to honor her memory is her brother, Charles Patrick; Aunt Patricia Ferguson and husband Ben; Uncle Pat McAlister and wife Nancy; Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends
