Karen Lynn Jamai

Karen Jamai, age 58, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, in Westley Chapel, FL. Karen was born on November 3, 1962, in San Francisco, California to Peter and Myriam Rony. She went to Mount De Chantal Academy for high school and earned a BS in Statistics from Virginia Tech. After college, Karen moved to Florida. She worked for Kraft Foods for 20 years, Southern Land Services of Southwest Florida for 5 years, and was a math teacher or math tutor for more than 5 years. When her son joined the Boy Scouts, she became a Boy Scout Mom for Troup 323 and touched many hearts. Karen was a creative and fierce soul. She loved painting pottery, doing her nails, and trying new things. She loved her family and friends deeply with all her heart. Karen always enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing games and enjoying a good puzzle. She found joy in helping educate and tutor students within the community. She was incredibly supportive of everyone’s success, especially her son’s success. She is survived by her son, Aidan; her siblings Karl Rony (wife Patricia, children Makayla (husband, Chris Puzio) and Jason), Paul Rony (wife Debra, children Chase and Paige), and Marianne Lorenc (husband Steve, children Nathan and Andrew); and many relatives too numerous to list but not forgotten. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Myriam Rony, and her brother, Glenn Rony A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Loyless Funeral Homes in Land O’Lakes, FL. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Rosary in Land O’Lakes, FL. The burial service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg, VA. Due to the pandemic, all are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing for everyone’s safety. Plans are in progress to stream the funeral mass and burial service for people to attend virtually. Details for both will be posted by the morning of each event.
