Johnny Lee Weaver

Johnny Lee Weaver, 72, widower of the late Georgietta McGuffey Weaver, died Tuesday September 14, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY. He was born in Birmingham, AL, to the late Johnny Lee Weaver, Sr. and the late Willie Mae Weaver. He was a retired mathematics teacher with the Fayette County Board of Education having taught at Lafayette High School for several years. Johnny was a avid Pickle Ball and basketball player. He spent most of his time at the Paris-Bourbon County YMCA. Johnny, like his wife was a member of the Wesley Chapel CME Church and also a graduate of Lane College in Jackson, TN, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree and was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He later went on to obtain his Master’s in Teaching from Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY. He is survived by two daughters, Jonetta Weaver and Jennifer (Junis) Weaver-Baldon; two grandchildren, Johnae Michelle Burton and Ananda Janelle Baldon; one brother, Anthony Carl Weaver and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, William Thompson, Ronald Larry Weaver and two sisters, Catherine Green and Elizabeth McCreary. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Monday September 20, 2021 at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Rev. Archie Williams. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Monday September 20, 2021 until the hour of service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Greg O’Bannon, Noah Fritts, James Compton, III, Joseph Compton, Ray Compton and Clarence Compton. Honorary pallbearers will be Junis Baldon and William Baldon. The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.
