Ms. Charlotte Michelle Amos was born on January 23, 1967
in Jacksonville, Florida to Sarah Alice Amos and Harold “Bull”
Amos. She graduated from Sandalwood High School and
attended Florida Community College at Jacksonville then enlisted
in the U.S. Army and served four years in Germany.
After an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Charlotte
resided in Eastman, GA for many years while working for
Eastman YDC- Juvenile Justice Department then recently
re-located to Waycross, GA and was employed at Ware County
State Prison before recently retiring after 30 years of service in
May 2021. Charlotte was an active member of Destination
Church, under the leadership of Pastor Rodney Thrift, Blackshear,
GA. She also attended Celebration Church when in Jacksonville,
FL. Charlotte was a member in the “Black Girls Run” community
in Eastman, GA. She loved running to encourage and motivate
black women to practice a healthy lifestyle.
Charlotte’s strong-willed spirit encouraged her family and friends
to persevere and remain optimistic in the face of hardships. Often
having a calm composure while giving everyone around her a
comforting peace of mind. Holding fast to her beliefs, praying
for those she loved, and always seeking to better herself. Willing
and able to offer wisdom from life experiences and emotional
support to anyone in need, always ready and excited for the next
chapter in life. She was a gentle soul with a heart of gold.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Harold O’Neal
Amos and her mother, Sarah Alice Amos.
Charlotte leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, two loving sons
Chris Howard and Cameron Howard; a beautiful daughter Jada
Howard; three grandchildren whom she adored: Jayden Howard,
Ava Simmons, and Ayden Howard; Grandmother: Ruby Lee
Oliver; sisters: Dana (Everette) and Jacqueline (Al); brother:
Tony (Denean); bonus brothers: Lorenzo and Earl; God sisters:
Shawn Oliver and Kim Lewis; special uncles: Max Parker Jr,
Michael Parker, Leroy Amos; bonus aunts: Vonda Ridley Parker
and Shirley Parker; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews,
cousins, friends and a former spouse (Greg Howard).
