Lori A. Tipton

<p>Lori A. Tipton, 55, of Dalzell, passed away on September 15, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.</p> <p>Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Patrick&rsquo;s Church in La Salle with Rev. Michael Pica officiating.&nbsp;Visitation will be 4-7:00 PM Friday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services.</p> <p>Lori was born in Peru on January 17, 1966 to John and Antoinette (Battaglia) Diddle. She married James Tipton on August 5, 1989. She graduated from Illinois State University in Elementary Education/Special Education, and after teaching a few years, she received her Master&rsquo;s Degree in Education at National Louis University. Lori was a dedicated schoolteacher. She was a passionate educator for nearly 33 years in La Salle Elementary School System. She loved her students just as much as her students loved her.</p> <p>Lori loved being with her family and would do anything for them. She enjoyed cooking as well as going out to dinner. She loved her furbabies, Gilly and Fonzie.</p> <p>Lori is survived by her husband Jim of Dalzell; three children Katie (Tyler) Sobin of Spring Valley, Jimmy Tipton of Spring Valley, and Sarah Tipton of Dalzell; a grandbaby on the way; and one sister Lisa (Lorin) Waller of Macomb.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents.</p>
