<p>James &quot;Jim&quot; R. Beckett, 93, of St. Marys, OH died at 12:25 a.m. Sunday September 12, 2021 at Vancrest of St. Marys.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>He was born&nbsp; in Summit Co., OH to Raymond and Dorothy (Simmons) Beckett.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>On August 29, 1948 in St. Marys, OH he married Geraldine Allen, who survives. Together, they recently celebrated 73 years of marriage.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Also survived by: 5 children: Sally Wiliams, Lynne (Jack) Carmean, Michael (Susan) Beckett, James (Susan) Beckett II, Barbara (Rodney) Fisher</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;14 grandchildren &nbsp; 21 great-grandchildren</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Siblings: Donald (Jean) Beckett, Dorothy (Stan) Hirschfeld, Helen Dersham, Pat (Kenny) Briggs</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Preceded in death by: parents Raymond and Dorothy Beckett; granddaughter Alicia Fisher;&nbsp; brother Richard Beckett; brother Ed Beckett; brother Jack Beckett; sister Janet Spencer</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1946).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>He was the owner/operator of several service stations in St. Marys, retiring in 1992. After retirement, he subsequently worked for Speckman Automotive in St. Marys for a number of years.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>He was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, Rotary International, Mercer Lodge F &amp; AM #121; Antioch Temple (Ancient &amp; Accepted Order of the Mystic Shrine) and St. Marys Outing Club (Idlewild).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>His favorite pastimes included golfing and bowling. He was a supporter of St. Marys Roughriders, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds sports programs. More than anything else, he treasured the time spent with his family.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Private family services will be held.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriners&#39; Childrens&#39; Hospitals.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Condolences may be expressed and memories shared with his family via: www.millerfuneralhomes.net</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller Bros.
