Margaret Elaine Shoemaker Teague, age 70, of Hamptonville, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville. Mrs. Teague was born May 22, 1951 in Buncombe County to James Eli and Lala Bare Shoemaker. She loved her family and her fur babies. She enjoyed shopping, decorating, cooking and helping others. She was one who valued her appearance. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Alfred Teague; son, Keith Wood; and brother, Jackie Bare. She is survived by her daughter, Anita Watson of Hamptonville; grandchildren, Josh Sales and spouse Stephanie of Deep Gap, Kayla Millsaps and spouse Cameron of North Wilkesboro, Hope Carter and spouse Cory of South Carolina, Christian Sales and spouse Jessica of Charlotte, Brandon Wood (Katy Shumate) of Alabama, Haley Watson (Matt Carlton) of Charlotte; seven great grandchildren; step-daughter, Susan “Pepper” Teague and son Luke of North Wilkesboro; sisters, Mildred Pardue of Clingman, Barbara Spears and spouse Roger of Laurel Springs, Carolyn Anderson and spouse Gurney of Hays, DeGaya Byrd and spouse David of Clingman; brother, Billy Bare and spouse Pauline of North Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at a later date. The family has requested no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, 4530 Park Road, Suite 302, Charlotte, NC 28209.
