Dennis Brooks Sr. was born on May 30, 1949 in the City of Newark to Mary Trent and Horace Brooks. He attended and graduated from the Newark Public School System, where he developed a passion for singing. He competed in and won a few competitions. Dennis had a bubbly personality and the ability to change his voice from Donald Duck to speaking Spanish. He knew how to light up a room and keep smiles on everyone’s faces. As an adult, Dennis worked hard to keep himself grounded and out of trouble. He started a family and became a father to eight children. Being the best father came naturally and easily to him. He had daughters to spoil who never heard the word “No”, and he had sons to watch his famous New York Giants with on Sundays. His family was always top priority for him. Dennis was a loving and caring person. If there was a need he would fulfill it, whether it was being hands-on or just being there. He made lifelong impacts on everyone who crossed his path. Dennis Edmond Brooks transitioned from this life on September 4, 2021. He will be missed by many. Dennis was preceded in death by: his parents, Mary Trent and Horace Brooks; his mother-in-law, Edith Pullin; and his son, Dennis Brooks Jr. Dennis leaves to cherish his memory: his wife and life partner, Twana Pullin; three daughters, Danelle, Cassandra and Sharonda; a son, Omar; three extended daughters, Chanell, Sharetta and Charell; his eight granddaughters, Danaisha, Tariyah, Aaronae, Kiara, Alexis, Brianna, Samiyah and Tayzia; four grandsons, Rontae, Noah, Mayson and Monroe; a great granddaughter, Skylar; his first cousin and best friend, Lisa Robinson; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
