Carol Barbara Johnson Waxahachie, Texas Obituary

Carol Barbara Johnson

Carol Barbara Johnson, 78 of Dallas Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 15th, 2021. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Saint Pius the Tenth Catholic Church. Carol was born in Houston, Texas on May 20th, 1943 to James C. and Barbara L. Baker. She graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1961. She had a long career in logistics accounting at Steven’s Transport where she retired from late 2014 and in her spare time, she volunteered at nursing homes and hospitals. In her free time she enjoyed fishing with her husband and at times other family members. She loved arts and crafts, from teaching her kids and grandkids how to make hot pads to taking them out on Friday nights to play Bingo. Carol enjoyed taking the family on vacation to Galveston and going to the family’s lake house on Cedar Creek Lake. Carol’s favorite music was country and all things Elvis Presley. We can’t forget about the love she had for her birds, Billy, Kenny and Jimmy (two she named after her brothers). She loved teaching her birds how to talk, give kisses and dance with her to her favorite, Elvis. Last but not least, her all time favorite thing was chocolate malts from Braum’s. Carol was preceded in death by her parents James and Barbara Baker, brother Kenneth Baker and husband Ronald Johnson. She is survived by brother James C. Baker Jr., son and daughter in law Michael and Karen Fite, son Richard and daughter in law Tricia Fite. She is also survived by five grandchildren Michael, Danielle, Cody, Kelsea, and Caden. Lastly, seven beautiful great grandchildren Emilee, Connor, Memphis, Dawson, Levi, Nevaeh, and William. Carol was known by many names; Mom, Sister, Daughter, Grandma, and friend. She lived her life to the fullest and cherished her family with her whole heart. The legacy she leaves behind will be one of strength and love. She was a woman of strong conviction and stood behind her family no matter the cost. She loved the simplest of pleasures in life like that of a tasty chocolate malt, or the smiles and giggles of her babies and great grandbabies. Carol lit up at the sight of her great grandchildren, who were more precious than the purest of diamonds to her. Christmas with her will be one of the fondest memories her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will have of Carol. The laughter, love and joy during those times are worth more than all the gold and silver this world could offer. The stories of Carol’s crazy personality and her laughter will echo through generations to come. She left this world knowing that she was loved and cherished by all who were lucky enough to know her. There is far more to say about Carol and not enough paper to put it on. Our hearts are broken for now and she will be missed, and shoes never be filled however, the gift of love she has given her family will be a lifetime treasure to hold in times of sorrow. Her love of the Lord, wisdom and faith will be their inspiration to fight the good fight until they are together again in glory where she will be waiting to welcome them home on that faithful day with her brightest smile and warmest hug.
