Lawrence Russell 91 of Brockton, MA passed peacefully in FL after a brief illness on Oct. 9, 2019. He was survived by his wife of 69 years, Candida (Basilici), his son Gary Russell (Janet) formally of Brockton and 4 grandchildren, David Russell (Stacie)of Brockton, Jenna Jordan (Matt) of Needham, and Heather Akie (Tom) and Derek Russell (Jennifer) of Newton along with 4 grandchildren, Oliver, Josselyn, Aria and Sophia and his sister Loretta Berardi of Canton along with many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was raised in Canton, Ma .and upon graduation he enlisted in The Marine Corps where he served honorably during World War II. After serving he began a career in the Television Industry in the late 40’s. At that time the industry was in it’s infancy and while working for a couple of start up companies, he also earned a degree in radio and Television electronics before moving on to the RCA company in the late 50’s. After a number of years working for RCA retired as a managing director for the northeast. He worked for Kingston Gas and Oil before retirement. Lawrence had many interests. He was an accomplished guitar player and played in a band in the early 40’s. He enjoyed watching Red Sox baseball and Patriots football, however his greatest joy in his off time was coaching the boys in Brockton West Little league. He loved the game of baseball. In retirement Lawrence enjoyed many a round of golf at Pine Oakes in S. Easton, where he was a member for some 20 years and where he carded his 3 Aces. Services are private
