Larry Wayne Willis Pearland, Texas Obituary

Larry Wayne Willis

Larry Wayne Willis, 66, of Manvel, Texas passed away on September 5th while surrounded by his wife and children. Larry was born on December 26, 1954, in Houston, Texas. In 1973, he graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas. Larry attended San Jacinto College where he earned an Associates of Applied Science in Instrumentation Technology. He went on to become a dedicated Instrument and Electrical Technician. While working in various chemical plants in the South Houston area, Larry made many lifelong friends. Even into retirement, he organized a monthly breakfast so he could continue spending time and laughing with his work buddies from years gone by. Larry was a dedicated family man, an amazing provider, and a doting grandfather. He enjoyed being an active member in church and believed that his greatest treasure was his salvation. Known for his jovial personality, Larry was rarely spotted without a huge smile on his face and seemed to know someone everywhere he went. As anyone who knew him knows, his favorite time of the year was the Christmas season as he was an active Santa Claus for 11 years. He enjoyed seeing the twinkle in every child’s eye while interacting with Santa. He even masterfully memorized the toy catalog every year as to relate to every child’s Christmas list requests. Larry was loved by many, and he will be greatly missed. Those who love him are comforted in knowing he is now with his Lord and Savior. Larry is preceded in death by his father, Roy Willis; stepmother Lavonne Willis; stepfather Rev. George Lupo; brother, Gary Willis; and sister, Sandra Collins. Left to cherish Larry’s memory are his mother, Joyce Lupo; loving wife, of 38 years, Beth Willis; sons Michael Crain and wife Kristina, Troy Willis and wife, Kayla; daughters Laurie Easterling and husband, Chad, Amy Holden and husband, Joshua; brother Roy E. Willis; sisters, Darla Schrock and husband, Todd, Lisa Lupo; grandchildren Jaiden Easterling, Mickyla Payne, Maggie Easterling, Kennedy Crain, and two more on the way. A service to honor Larry’s life will be held at 11 am on September 25 at Faith Assembly of God in Pasadena, Texas. Since so much of his time was dedicated to bringing Santa Claus magic to children every year, his family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pleasant Hills Children’s Home in his honor. Donations can be sent to: Pleasant Hills Children’s Home P.O. Box 1177 Fairfield, Texas 75840
