Geneva Beaver Joplin, Missouri Obituary

Geneva Beaver

Geneva V. (Bellamy) Beaver, age 91, of Joplin, MO, passed away September 13, 2021, from complications of a stroke. Geneva was born October 10, 1929 in Goodman, MO to Conley Bellamy and Bernice (Johnson) Bellamy. She was the oldest 12 children. Geneva married Otis Beaver on April 5, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2014. They were married 67 years, together they built a beautiful life and family they were proud of. Geneva was also preceded in death by son, Clyde Beaver; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Edward Keplar; granddaughter, Rhonda Beaver; great-grandson, Matthew Watkins; sisters: Fern Ash; Billie Gideon; Joy (Dude) Dudley; brothers: Alva Bellamy; Don Bellamy and Larry Bellamy. Geneva will be greatly missed by daughter, Sharon Stokes and Don; daughter in law, Carolyn Beaver; her 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; lifetime friend/sister Raylene Weems; Geneva’s church family at Christpoint Church and numerous nieces and nephews. Geneva was a homemaker. She was a prayer warrior and a champion for Christ. Anytime prayer was needed, Nana came to the rescue. Her name was Geneva, but she was Nana to most and Grandma Beaver to her church. Nana had a full life. When she was younger, she played guitar and sang gospel songs at church. She was also an Ordained Minister and preached on the radio and in churches all over the area. She raised a family and took in many of her children’s friends over the years, when they needed a place to stay. She cooked, cleaned, ran errands, and made a home for her husband and children. Everyone was always welcomed in her home. She loved openly and honestly. No one left without a hug. You had to give hugs when you came in, and hugs when you left. Love was the theme to her life. She was a confidant and a friend to all. Never judging, she prayed you through your troubles. She would take every opportunity she could talk to you about God. She wanted to make sure she would see you on the other side. That was her life goal. To save souls and spread the word of God. Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, September 17, 2021 at Christpoint Church in Galena, KS at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends during visitation at the Mason-Woodard Chapel from 5:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Geneva will be laid to rest next to her husband Otis, in Tracy Cemetery, east of Anderson, MO. Serving as pallbearers are Randy Beaver, Bill Watkins, James Watkins, Kevin Beaver, Chris Beaver and Bobby Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Dudley and Jalen Vaden. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Christpoint Church for the Children’s Camp Ministries, in care of the mortuary.
