Shirley Ann Waggoner Muleshoe, Texas Obituary

Shirley Ann Waggoner

Shirley Waggoner, age 84, of Muleshoe, Texas, died Monday, September 13, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born April 16, 1937 in Clovis, New Mexico to Ralph and Naomi (Owen) Black. She married Charles Waggoner in Muleshoe, Texas on May 4, 1955. Shirley was first and foremost a selfless mother and Nana. You never had to guess what she was thinking, but she loved unconditionally. She loved spending time with her grandkids and loved to cook their favorite dessert for them. Shirley loved to talk about her favorite team, the “Longhorns” and loved watching the games with the kids. She was known for her chocolate pie and if you ever wanted a piece of “Nana’s Chocolate Pie”, you’d probably have to find it because someone likely hid it for themselves. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; a granddaughter, Kayla Everett; two sisters, Katherine McCain and Maxine Rogers; and two brothers, Bill Black and Ronnie Black. Shirley is survived by her three sons, Danny Waggoner and his wife, Tena of Midland, Texas, Eddie Waggoner of Muleshoe, Texas and Randy Waggoner and his wife, Patti of Muleshoe, Texas; her daughter, Cammie Turnbow and her husband, Rodney of Lubbock, Texas; her two sisters, Karon Murray of Frisco, Texas and Rita Morris of Chandler, Arizona; her six brothers, Lyndal Black of Muleshoe, Texas, Gaylon Black of Clovis, New Mexico, Dean Black of Muleshoe, Texas, Ricky Black of Lazbuddie, Texas, Rex Black of Muleshoe, Texas and Kim Black of Muleshoe, Texas; her eight grandchildren, Steven Turnbow, Bryan Turnbow, Devin Waggoner, Chance Waggoner, Megan Pasco, Jill Waggoner, Jesse Waggoner and Joe Waggoner; and her fourteen great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Onieta Waggnon Senior Citizens Center, PO Box 292, Muleshoe, Texas, 79347 or Alzheimer’s Association, 4601 – 50th Street, Suite 216, Lubbock, Texas, 79414.

May the Lord comfort during this time of grief. I worked with Shirley at Fry & Cox and had fond memories of her during my time there. John 11:25 - I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.
