EASTON: Elizabeth “Betty” Barnes 71, passed away Sunday evening September 12, 2021 at her home in Easton. She was born in Presque Isle on August 5, 1950, the daughter of Bernard and Ramona (Hall) Howlett. She worked at Converse Shoe, Aroostook Shoe, and Mammoth Mart Department store. Betty attended Easton Pentecostal Church for many years. She enjoyed doing crotchet. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Gary Barnes of Easton, her mother Ramona Howlett of Presque Isle, two sons; Curtis and his girlfriend Amy Tomah of Easton, Edward and his companion Erin Maynard of Presque Isle, four grandchildren Elias, Elana, Avery, and Lainie, seven siblings and their spouses; Terrance and Shirley Howlett of Presque Isle, Virginia and Ronald Foley of Cary, Kathleen and Michael Gardner of Presque Isle, Cindy and Corey MacDonald of Standish, Wendy and Randy Clark of Presque Isle, Penney and Robert Gagnon of Westfield, and Bernard Howlett Jr. of Hampden, several nieces and nephews, three special friends Debbie Smith, Becky Searles and Janna Dodge. She was predeceased by her father Bernard Howlett and a sister Patricia Watson. Donations may be made in her memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation 6520 N. Andrews Ave. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2132. A graveside service will be held 11AM Saturday September 18, 2021 at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle, with Pastor Spencer Hawbaker.
