Amil "Butch" Eric Ganaway passed away December 12, 2020 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 2043 S 4th Street, Greenville, Illinois, and the Bond County Human Society, 2510 S Elm Street, Greenville, Illinois.
Butch was the beloved son of Sarah (Sally) "nee" Null Ganaway and Amil E. Ganaway of Greenville, Illinois. He graduated High School from BCCU #2 and entered the United States Navy where he served from July 27, 1971 to November 20, 1973. During his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Butch was the proud parent of a fur baby Bubby. One of their favorite activities was to visit the local farm of a friend, and Bubby would run and play in the woods under his Dad's watchful eye. Butch was already ready to help family and friends when needed.
He is survived by Six sisters, Ruth A. Ganaway (Greenville, IL) Mary L. Paoletti (Keyesport, IL), Cynthia F. Christian (Carlyle, IL), Melanie L Roach (Greenville, IL), Sarah L Ganaway (Greenville, IL) and Elizabeth E. Mollet (Greenville).
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Monica Langston (Lufkin, TX), his niece Sarah (Sally Jo) Martino, (Houston, TX) and his nephew Antonio Paoletti (Pocahontas)
