Steven J. Shank

Life is short, but Eternity is forever.

A Celebration of Life for Steve Shank of Greenville will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Greenville, IL. In 1976, after attending Greenville College, he acquired his real estate license and started working with his father, owner of Shank Real Estate & Auction Company, which was opened in 1971. Steve was elected in 1980, and continued to serve as, Central Township Assessor holding a CIAO designation. In 1995 he obtained his Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license. Between the years of 2002 - 2012 he, along with his family, rehabbed or had 7 homes built.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Greenville, the NRA, and a 30 year PCA member. He was also the President of the very exclusive Steve Shank opinion club, which met upon seeing anyone whom he felt needed to hear his medical, political or random general advise. The mission of his club was "Stand for something, or you stand for nothing at all". There were no official members, but you know who you were. If you were a member, we hope you count yourself as lucky, as it meant he loved and cared for your overall well being. Steve enjoyed people, this community and he had great concern for and hated seeing our God blessed USA turning away from the beliefs that it was founded upon. Along with being a true patriot, he loved his family, including Heidi and Kaiser (the Germans).

He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Chet" and Marjorie, nee Iberg, Shank, and his father-in-law, Burnell Neumann.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Georgia Shank of Greenville; his daughter Chloe Shank and her boyfriend Ethan Chesnut; his brother and sister-in-law, Tom (Cathy) Shank of Collinsville, IL; his mother-in-law, Jane Neumann; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Scott (Lisa) Neumann of Lithuania; and his nieces and nephews, Clayton (Jessica) Purcelli and their daughter Alana, Jessica (Brett) Thornton, Claudia Purcelli, John Neumann, Sarah Neumann, Yuri Neumann and Hannah Neumann.

Visitation
Saturday, February 8, 2020

 1:00 PM 2/8/2020 1:00:00 PM - 3:00 PM 2/8/2020 3:00:00 PM

 Greenville First United Methodist Church
310 S.
