Maxine Maroon Obituary

Maxine Maroon, age 86, of Greenville passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at Greenville Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 11 AM at Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, August 27, 2019 after 10 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Greenville Nursing and Rehab Activities Department.

Maxine was born on February 12, 1933 in Pittsburg, IL to Leonard and Fern (Whitford) Koontz. She is survived by her husband Harry Maroon who she married on October 4, 1952 in Greenville, IL. She is also survived by her two daughters Vicki (Terry) Boatright of Carlyle and Rosetta (Larry) Blankenship of Greenville, her two sons Roger "Whitey" Maroon fo Hoffman, IL, and Randy "Ham" (Angela) Maroon of Donnellson, IL., her brother Dean (Mary) Koontz, seven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons Leslie Maroon and David Maroon, two sisters Marilyn Peterson and Lucille Gum, along with a brother George Koontz

She grew up in the Pittsburg area and moved to Greenville after her marriage. She had worked at The Bel Air Motel and also did some babysitting but spent most of her life as a homemaker.
