Marvin Shaffner Bussell

Marvin Shaffner Bussell, 88, widower of the late Mary Lucille Dale Bussell, died Monday September 13, 2021 at the Georgetown Community Hospital, Georgetown, KY. He was born in Nicholas County, KY to the late Flem Shaffner and Thelma Vance Bussell. Marvin was a retired horseman having worked at Claiborne, Cherry Valley and Xalapa Farms. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. Marvin also loved his Lord and Savior, having been a long time member of the Carlisle Assembly of God. He is survived by one daughter, Paula (Randy) Doyle; three grandchildren, Kelly Casey Bussell (Jonathan) Herrington, Hollie Faith Doyle and Dustin Tyler (Chelsea) Doyle; two great grandchildren, Lincoln James Herrington and Silas Michael Herrington; one brother, Charles Gilbert (Brenda) Bussell; two sisters, Arizona Bussell (Donald) Dailey and Nancy Jane Bussell Fair and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Avery Bussell; eight sisters, Juanita Buckler, Artie Williams, Cleotis “Okie” Hunt, EmmaLee Watkins, Audrey Perry, Nora Mitchell, Mollie Dailey and Dora Bussell and a special uncle and aunt, Burt and Mollie Vance. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday September 16, 2021 at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Bro. Sam Campbell and Jonathan Herrington. Burial will follow in the North Middletown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Thursday September 16, 2021 until the hour of service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chase Johnson, Logan Johnson, George Edgar “Jr.” Hunt, Jonathan Herrington, Nathan Coyle, Dustin Doyle, Ethan Hawkins and Lloyde Campbell.
