Marie Niemann
Tropic, Utah

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and best friend returned home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, September 13, 2021, in St. George, at the age of 59. Marie Hall Niemann was born on February 17, 1962, to Fred and Ellen Hall.  She grew up in Washington Terrace, UT and attended Bonneville High and Weber State College.  On May 15, 1992, Marie married John F Niemann III of Tropic and relocated there where she embraced the community.  She worked as the town clerk for the town of Tropic and also as a manager at Ruby’s Inn.  She loved sharing the beauty of Bryce Valley with all those she came in contact with.   

John and Marie were inseparable.  Every minute of spare time they had they were always together. She was his sweetheart and the love of his life.  He loved to joke and tease her.  They had many crazy adventures together, but what mattered most is that they were together.  He was devoted to her and took care of her when she was sick.   During the last few days of her life, he wouldn’t leave her side.  

Marie was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in her community. Marie loved her family and loved her heritage, and she had a firm belief in the eternal nature of families.  She loved to attend the temple and witnessed many temple ordinances with her family and friends.  

Marie suffered from renal failure during her teens and endured two kidney transplants during her lifetime.   Another result of her chronic condition is that she was not able to have children of her own, but instead took on the role of mother to John’s children and surrogate mother to her nephews and nieces who lovingly called her “Auntie M.” Marie had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and they loved her dearly.  Her family was the most important thing in her life and although she worked two different jobs, spending many hours working, she always made time for her family and would travel long distances every time there was a special event in our lives.  She had a special, individual relationship with each one of her family members and her Christ-like love touched the hearts of many. 

Marie was blessed with many talents. She was exceptionally loving and constantly serving her family, friends, and community. She was gifted in the art of crochet and made many blankets and other items for special events for those she loved, including a blessing blanket when each new baby in the family was born.  She loved camping, fishing, hunting, and enjoying the beauty of Bryce Valley. She loved to spend time together with her family cooking, crafting, playing games, and sitting around the table, laughing until we cried.  She looked forward to holidays and loved to plan parties, decorate, and spend time together.  

We will remember Marie for her smiles, her laughter, and her hugs.  She was the glue of our family that brought us together.  Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everybody she interacted with.  Her family will continue to honor her legacy by living our lives to the fullest and sharing her love of the Savior.  

She is survived by her husband John, children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
