Richard P. St. Sauveur, Sr.

<p>Richard P. St. Sauveur, Sr., 79, of Harrisville , RI passed away September 11, 2021&nbsp;at Roger Williams Hospital after an illness.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was the beloved husband of Janice M. (Varin) St. Sauveur.</p> <p>Richard was born in Woonsocket, RI, a son of the late John B. St. Sauveur and the late Violet (Boucher) St. Sauveur.</p> <p>He was employed by the Town of Burrillville for 16 years as the Superintendent of the Department of Public Works and retired in 2004. Richard&nbsp;was a member of the Rhode Island Public Works Association.&nbsp;He was a member of the Nasonville Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years. He also served as an Auxiliary Patrolman for the Burrillville Police Department from 1969-1975 and served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard from 1961-1967 and received his honorable discharge at the rank of Staff Sergeant.</p> <p>Along with his loving wife of 57 years, he is survived by his daughter, Lynn (St. Sauveur) Wagner and her husband Joseph of Tolland, CT., his son, Smithfield Chief of Police Richard P. St. Sauveur, Jr. and his wife Gina of Smithfield, RI. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren,&nbsp;Phillip Wagner and his wife Ashley, Cameron Wagner and his wife Emily, 1st Lt. Darin St. Sauveur USAF and Kacie St. Sauveur, and great-granddaughter, Lillian Wagner.&nbsp; He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his siblings, Victor St. Sauveur and Rachelle (St. Sauveur) Calkins.</p> <p>Richard was an avid fan of NASCAR, New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed wood working, painting and golf.</p> <p>Funeral will be Wednesday,&nbsp;September 22, 2021, at 9:30 AM at the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road,&nbsp;North&nbsp;Smithfield&nbsp;with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in&nbsp;St.Theresa&rsquo;s Church, 35 Dion Drive, Nasonville, RI. Calling Hours will be Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 4-7 PM.&nbsp;Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Parish Cemetery. .&nbsp;</p> <p>In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Theresa&rsquo;s Shrine, 35 Dion Drive, Harrisville, RI&nbsp; 02830 or Cure HHT, P.O. Box 329, Monkton, MD 21111 in loving memory of Richard would be greatly appreciated.</p>

Richard P. St. Sauveur, Sr., 79, of Harrisville , RI passed away September 11, 2021 at Roger Williams Hospital after an illness.   He was the beloved husband of Janice M. (Varin) St. Sauveur.

Richard was born in Woonsocket, RI, a son of the late John B. St. Sauveur and the late Violet (Boucher) St. Sauveur.

Calling Hours will be Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 4-7 PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Parish Cemetery. .
