Dale Edwin Strouse
COTTAGE GROVE - Dale Edwin Strouse, age 72, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Saturday, Sept.11, 2021, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on April 1, 1949, in Ashland, Ohio, the son of Raymond Strouse and Leatrice (Knapp) Strouse. He joined the Air Force after graduating from high school. Dale proudly served until he developed health problems and was medically retired in 1972. Dale met his future wife, Marilyn Myers while she was teaching in Ohio and they married on June 28, 1975. He worked for Norlight Fiber Optics, which brought him and his family to Madison in the 80s. Dale owned a small electronics repair shop in the 70s in Ohio. He enjoyed tinkering with radios, and small electronics, a passion he never outgrew. Dale is survived by his wife, Marilyn Strouse of 46 years; three sons, Neil (Jenny) Strouse, Kevin (Jennifer) Strouse and Shaun Strouse Kelly (Bultman); grandson, Rory Strouse; sister, Vicki Sorrell; and sister-in-law, Rita Strouse. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerry Strouse; and brother-in-law, Archie Sorrell A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021.
