Virginia Geraty Evans

Virginia “Ginny” Geraty Evans went to join her Heavenly Father on September 10, 2021. She was 82 years old. Ginny was born in Charleston, South Carolina, where she founded Just-T, an herbal tea company with international distribution. She eventually moved to Sparta, Van Buren County, Tennessee to be closer to her children as she neared retirement. In retirement Ginny enjoyed birdwatching, observing wildlife, and listening to classical music. Her association with Sam Soleyn Ministries was a great comfort. Ginny kept up regular contact with her siblings and extended family. Nothing gave her more joy than a visit with them. Ginny was involved in the Sparta community at the Senior Center, the YMCA, and Crossroads Episcopal Church where she taught herbal tea brewing workshops. Ginny was predeceased by her husband, Thomas James Evans, her father Captain James Ray Geraty, her stepfather Charles Cooper Geraty, her mother Virginia Mixson Geraty, her brother James Ray Evans III, her sister Judith Geraty Hicks, and her sons Robert Charles Evans and James Christopher Evans She is survived by siblings Joy Geraty Massenburg, Charlotte Geraty Main, and Edward Mixson Geraty, daughters Virginia Elizabeth Evans, and Laura Anne Wallace, daughter-in-law Barbara King Evans, grandchildren Barbara DeAnne Evans, Robert Charles Evans II (Natasha), Daniel Perkins, great- grandchildren Elijah Reising, Harper Evans, and great-grandson-to-be Cian A.
