Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 17, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia for Whitney Cormier, 55, who passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Friday. Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Danielle Landry and Theresa Singleton. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Whitney was a member of the Tuba Scope Organization for many years. He enjoyed rooster fighting, carpentry, working on hot rods, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Octavia Ann Ledet; two sons, Allen Ledet and Justin Ledet; two daughters, Whitney Ramar and La'Tyra Ramar; brother, Jason Cormier; two sisters, Josephine Cormier and Jennifer Cormier; seven grandchildren, Avontez, Nathan, Dawson, Keli, Kali, Justin, Jr. and Jandi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Anna Mae Gordon Cormier; and his sister, Debra Cormier. Pallbearers will be Avontez Ledet, Brandon Gary, Jerome Livings, Joseph Borel, Damien Chevis and Travis Gordon. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Livings, Leviticus Ledet Sr., Leviticus Ledet Jr., Jason Cormier, Marquis Cormier, Jackie Davis and Davonte Cormier.
