Harold Bruce Wagner Billings, Montana Obituary

Bruce Wagner

Bruce Wagner lost his life in a tragic accident while doing what he loved the most on September 9, 2021, in Townsend, Montana. Bruce was born in Billings, Montana on February 13, 1954, to Harold and Jeannine Wagner. He grew up west of Billings and, in his early years, was very active in 4-H, Saddle Club, showing, raising and training horses, hunting, skiing and fishing. Once he got his job at McDonald's, he dedicated most of his time there, and prided himself in winning an award for "The Best Hamburger Flipper This Side of the Mississippi". After McDonald's, Bruce began his very successful career in construction, including owning his own business, Bruce Wagner Construction, Inc. In his career, he built hundreds of houses in the Billings area and beyond. He met and married Toni Johnson and had two daughters, Sara and Megan, who he loved so much. Bruce worked many hours to provide for his family, working various jobs in addition to his role as a contractor. He also enjoyed taking his family camping and on road trips, with Fairmont Hot Springs being a favorite. Bruce loved the water slide there and nicknamed himself "Rocketman" due to his speed on the slide. After his marriage ended and he was back into the single life, Bruce jumped wholeheartedly into his favorite pastimes - playing softball, fishing, golfing, and of course, cheering on the Griz, his all-time favorite football team . In 2006, Bruce reconnected with a friend from his teenage years, Sandy Bolin, and sparks flew. They married in 2009. In this next chapter, Bruce gained a whole additional family who he loved dearly and who in return loved him equally. Sandy shared his love of fishing and could drive a mean golf cart. The two spent time travelling whenever they could get time away from work. Bruce and Sandy had big plans for the rest of their life since Bruce's recent retirement, and this unexpected loss has left a huge hole in all of our lives. He was preceded in death by his father Harold Wagner. Survivors include: Wife Sandy, Daughters Sara and Megan, Brittney (Chris) Mercier, Brooke (Kris) Devaney, Mother Jeannine Wagner, Brother Michael (Lori) Wagner, Sister Cheryl Rasmussen, Grandkids Cassius, Marcos, Chuck, Claire, Brady, Mia, and Sebastian, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Bruce also had many friends who all held a very special place in his heart. To know Bruce was to love him. He will be forever missed. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00pm Friday, September 17th, 2021 at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Avenue, Billings, Montana. <iframe class="ts_player" allowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" frameborder="0" height="330" scrolling="no" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/KMHM35YT8F3HJPJ8" width="512"></iframe>
