Waltraut Kennedy, 91, of Sugar Grove, Illinois, passed away on September 11, 2021. Predeceased by her parents Erich and Helene Manzke and special companion, David Gumz, she is survived by her cousins: Alfred (Susan) Lipke, Tamara Lipke (Jeffrey Bohner), Bernd (Fritzi) Manzke, and her loving four legged friend Baby. Waltraut was born and educated in Berlin, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1951. She became a US citizen, initially working for Leitz and Grometers in Aurora and for many years at All Steel until her retirement. She enjoyed spending winters in Clearwater, Florida and summers in North Aurora and Sugar Grove. Visitation will be held at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S Broadway, Montgomery on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. A burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Montgomery.
