Gloria Allene McIntyre Obituary

Gloria Allene Rivenbark McIntyre, age 85, of Wallace, NC left this earthly life on Saturday, September 4, 2021, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ forevermore.

She was born on April 13, 1936 in Pender County; the daughter of the late George Ernest and Mary Esther Hamilton Rivenbark.  Gloria  is also predeceased by her husband, Charles George "C.G." McIntyre; daughter, Anita Faye McIntyre; sisters, Catherine Boone, Florence Hoover and Flora Ciuffreda; brothers, George Rivenbark, Sam Rivenbark and Claude Rivenbark;

Gloria is a member of Wallace First Assembly of God. Before that she was a member of Long Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving sons, Charles Bryan McIntyre, and Stephen Keith McIntyre and his wife, Laurie; three grandchildren, Stephanie McIntyre, Kayla McIntyre, and Stephen McIntyre; sisters, Bernice Hayden and Faye Starnes; brother, Ray Rivenbark; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that loved Gloria dearly.

Gloria worked with Bell South Telephone Company for 39 years.  She worked in various areas from being a switchboard operator to sales. Gloria was a loving mother and caring grandmother, sister and friend.  She found great joy in the simplest things, but her greatest joy was family.  Gloria enjoyed gardening and being outside. Blessed with a green thumb, it seemed as though she could plant anything, and it would grow, bloom and multiply.  She lived her life based on Christian principles and instilled Christian values in her children.  Gloria was dedicated to her church and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.  Most of all, Gloria loved her Lord and her goal was to one day meet her Savior, Jesus Christ face to face.  She has met that goal. Gloria will surely be missed but treasured memories of Gloria will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Wallace First Assembly, 212 West Main St., Wallace, NC on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00pm
