Matthew M. Ihde, age 39, of Neenah, passed away surrounded by family and in the loving arms of his wife on Saturday, September 11, 2021 after a brief illness.

Matthew was born on August 20, 1982 in Neenah, son of Michael and Sheri (Plach) Ihde. After graduating from Neenah High School in 2001 Matthew attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point where he earned an associate degree in business administration. He enjoyed deer hunting at the family cabin in Waupaca and fishing with his dad and especially duck hunting with his best friend, his dog “Nelli”. Matthew worked as a Sales Advisor for Bergstrom Automotive for 16 years, a job he truly loved and enjoyed. His Bergstrom family was a very important part of his life and where he met many of his good friends.

Matthew married the love of his life, Laura Jankowski on February 21, 2020. He and Laura enjoyed many adventures together, with their favorite being the yearly trip to Rhinelander. He was her bear and she was his darling.

In addition to Laura, Matthew is survived by his parents, Michael and Sheri Ihde; his brother, Benjamin (Vicki) Ihde; his grandmother’s, Pat Ihde and Carol (Larry Comerford) Plach; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alan and Sue Jankowski; sister-in-law, Melissa (Josh Genske) Jankowski; grandparents-in-law, Jerry (Cleo) Enama; two nieces, Makayla and Emery and a nephew, Zander; his aunts Lori Plach DeByl (Mark), Holly Ihde Drawenek (Mark Wirch) and his uncle Sean Ihde (Jodie); Uncle and Aunt-in-law, Jim and Carlene Enama, and Gary and Pat Jankowski; many cousins and friends and also his four-legged buddies, Nelli and Noodle.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfather’s, Rufus Ihde and Ron Plach, and his best friend, Mike Prell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service concluding the evening. Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial is being established.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Dr.’s and nurses at Theda Clark in Neenah as well as the University Hospital in Madison.

Matthew will be missed terribly by his family and friends, but never forgotten with the wonderful memories he has given us. We Love You.
