Elizabeth Oleta Coppinger

Elizabeth Oleta Foster Coppinger passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Tennova Hospital in Cleveland. The family expresses appreciation to the ICU and other staff members at Tennova who provided compassionate care for Oleta while she was hospitalized. Oleta was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Frank and Leta Boyd, and her mother, Edna Mae Foster Travis, her nephew Andy Foster and beloved niece, Christie McCurdy, as well as her special doggie friend, Precious. She was a graduate of Polk County High School, class of 1971, where she was a standout basketball player, receiving a number of awards in basketball and academics. Her work career was in customer service and as an administrative assistant, her last position being with Coppinger Color Labs. She was beautiful, smart, talented in many areas, had a good heart, and loved their dogs Maggie and Abby. She will be missed by her family and friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Ron Coppinger and his children, Dawn (Ralph) Keel, Cindy (Scott) Robertson, Jon Coppinger, as well as Ron’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren who referred to Oleta as Nannie O; brother Charles (Brenda) Foster of Benton Station, sisters Colene Sanderson of Grant, Alabama, and Linda (Phillip) Travis of Lillian, Alabama; uncle Robert (Nancy) Boyd of Cleveland; special friends Linda Green, Linda Brackett, Sarah Coppinger, Kay Medford, and Andy Albritton; cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will have a private service. For those who would like to make a donation in memory of Oleta, the family suggests St. Jude Children’s Hospital, which was a charity that was dear to her heart.
