Leonard Martinez, Jr.
<p>Leonard Martinez, Jr. was born in Lubbock TX on November 9th, 1963. He passed away September 7, 2021, at the age of 57. Leonard was an excellent student and graduated from Monterey High School in 1982. He loved his family dearly, and enjoyed family get togethers and barbecues. He had many close friends and loved them all like family as well. He enjoyed going out, playing music, and just ‘having fun’ with all his loved ones. Leonard was a huge animal lover and throughout his lifetime he had many pets, which included dogs, ducks, rabbits, and a very, very special cat named Emily. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. </p> <p>Those left to cherish his memory are his brother Rick (Elizabeth) Martinez, sisters Beckie M. Garcia and Terry Martinez, nephews Ricky (Kat) Martinez, Jr., Aaron Garcia, and niece Andrea M. (Jeremiah) Moreno, along with great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Leonardo Martinez and his beloved mother Leonides ‘Nena’ Martinez. </p> <p>Thank you in advance to the pallbearers: Rick Martinez, Joe Vallejo, Mitch Maxson, Troy Maxson, John Slyker and John Kernaghan. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Martinez, Jr., Aaron Garcia, Jeremiah Moreno and Ethan Martinez. </p> <p>Viewing will be held Friday, September 17 at 9:00 a.m. and a Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 p.m., at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. After the celebration, graveside services and internment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow, TX.
