Jon Edward Royster

Jon Edward Royster, 72, of Maumee, passed away September 12, 2021, at his home. Jon was born September 25, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio to Elwood and Jenny (Sawaya) Royster. Jon graduated from Start High School and proudly served our country in the United States Navy and the Marine Corp where he worked as a physician assistant and surgeon.    Jon retired from General Motors. He was a Masonic Mason and was a local umpire; even umpiring for the Toledo Mud Hens. He enjoyed fishing and traveling, especially to Las Vegas. He loved spending time in the kitchen and was a true culinary genius. Jon will be remembered for his infectious smile, his story telling abilities and his charm.   He is survived by his sons, Jon R. Royster and Bryant Royster; grandchildren, Samantha Hagaman and Devin Royster; great-grandchildren, Talon Hagaman and Teegan Hagaman and brother, James Royster. He was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children, Gail Royster.  Friends and family will be received Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee (419-893-7686) where funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
