Michael Amos "Festus" Altman Obituary

Mr. Michael Amos “Festus” Altman, 58, passed away Monday (September 13, 2021) at his residence in Blackshear following a brief illness. He was born in Statesboro, GA to the late Franklin Delano Roosevelt Altman and Grace Juanita Warner Joyner. He was formerly employed at Union Camp in Folkston before it closed but was currently employed with West Fraser in Blackshear. He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Carol Ann Thomas of Blackshear; a son, Christopher Michael Altman (Ashley) of Clayton, DE; seven grandchildren, Jada Justice, Nevaeh Altman, Serenity Altman, Jaylah Burris, Keeley Riendeau, Baby A, and Christopher Michael Altman, Jr.; a sister, Juanita Ann Thompson (Gary Eugene) of Blackshear; a brother, Jerry Altman of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday (September 25, 2021) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hargraves Chapel Cemetery in Millwood. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 until 7 o’clock.
